It's Just Paper.: July's Layout of the Month...

I thought I would pass on this post by the wonderfully talented Brigit - makes great use of the Basicgrey's papers - especially for those of us who sometimes struggle to use those papers with large patterns on them. Brigit - I love your layout!

Cuzins!

It's a little bit blurry, but you get the idea of the layout! This was a double page layout kit from Basicgrey using the 'Hello Luscious' papers and embellishments. I loved the black and white photos because they give this layout an 'old tyme feel. I sanded all the edges of the photos to age them just a little bit further. The second photo from the right is matted and I used dimensional dots to lift it up a little bit.

This is another one of the Page of the Month layouts from Basicgrey. It was using the 'Hello Luscious' papers and embellishments. I struggled for a bit to find the right pictures for this layout, but as soon as we went strawberry picking I thought "what a great colour match with green and pink!" The title was done using their layered journal tags - which I really love. I know some people struggle with how to adhere the clear overlay on top - I usually just place a small dot of glue underneath a flower or coloured portion and it works very well.

It's a Zoo out there!

We went to the zoo, and I was quite happy to be able to use these papers and dimensional stickers from Bo Bunny! It's from their 'Zoology' line. I love that it's a balance between wild and cute. I loved the dimensional stickers - they are really cute!

Graduation 2011

This was a layout that was part of the Basicgrey 2011/12 Page of the Month club, and it was the July layout.

I modified it somewhat from the original - as always I have more pictures to put on my layout than was called for in the instructions!

Using the 'Out of Print' line, I did my daughters Grade 8 grad. I was inspired by the black and white of her dress to match the black and white of the background pictures. I loved the Out of Print stickers - they were all very inspirational and I felt like they perfectly suited the sentiment of the day.

Graduation 2011

Here is the same layout, with the colours and cropping improved!

I just love this paper collection from Fancy Pants - it's their Beach Babe collection. I love the colours, the embellishments, I guess I love everything about it! It really brought out the fun of summer! The two single page layouts were actually part of their Page Kit - there is also another double page layout that goes with it but I'm still in the process of completing that one. The double page layout shown was just something that I pulled together on my own. I don't usually use a lot of flowers on my pages, but the colourful buttons and flowers put together just seemed to work out well on this page. I love summer

Scrapfest Oshawa 2010

Well, it would appear that I have been remiss in posting on my blog! I guess life just got busy and I hadn't really thought of it until someone pointed out to me that I hadn't posted once yet in 2011!
So I am going back in time to try and capture a few of the things that went on in the fall of 2010. One of the big ones for me was Scrapfest 2010 in Oshawa. It was my first time being a vendor at a purely scrapbooking/cardmaking event. It was busy and we had a great time. We got to meet so many new people and I loved seeing some of the new trends that were popular that I hadn't had a chance to try yet.
I am looking forward to doing it again in 2011 and I have to thank Tracey and Emma for helping me out - I wouldn't have been able to do it without them!
